The first week of June sees the national celebration of volunteering through Volunteers’ Week.
This year is the 25th anniversary of Volunteers’ Week and 25 organisations, including Abbeyfield have signed up as partners to celebrate the week. Volunteers' Week plays a huge part in raising the profile of the millions of volunteers who regularly contribute to society and 7,500 of these are Abbeyfield volunteers.
Abbeyfield Chief Executive, Paul Allen, took the opportunity to say a warm and sincere thank you to each and everyone one of them for the commitment and enthusiasm they offer to The Abbeyfield Society. Paul comments:
"It’s a much-used phrase, but it really is all about making a difference. We have been around for a long time, and because of the support of many thousands of volunteers over the years have a very successful history of providing housing, care and support for the elderly"
