Service of thanksgiving for the life of Major Richard Carr-Gomm OBE, Founder of the Abbeyfield Society.
Request for ticket applications:
There will be a Service of Thanksgiving for the life of Major Richard Carr-Gomm OBE at Southwark Cathedral, London SE1 9DA on Wednesday 29th April 2009 at 2.30 p.m. This is being organised by The Abbeyfield Society in conjunction with The Carr-Gomm Society and Richard’s family.
Unfortunately, as space is severely limited at the cathedral, attendance will be by ticket only. To ensure that there is a good spread of opportunity for people to be there from across the Abbeyfield movement we are operating a ballot system for tickets. We look forward to receiving applications from past and present residents, staff and volunteers but each application must be for one ticket. We will also, together with Richard’s family and The Carr-Gomm Society, place an advertisement in the press for a small allocation of tickets to ensure that other people who knew Richard also have the possibility of attending.
The closing date for applications for the ballot is 27th March. It will be drawn on 30th March by Natasha Singarayer, Company Secretary of The Abbeyfield Society. We will contact both successful and unsuccessful applicants to let them know the outcome by 3rd April. Unfortunately we will not be able to include applications received after 27th March in the ballot. There will be no entry into the cathedral without a ticket.
Please either email Anita Edmond at a.edmond@abbeyfield.com with your application or write to her at The Abbeyfield Society, 53 Victoria Street, St Albans AL1 3UW to arrive by 27th March 2009 and include the following information:
Name, Address, Telephone number, E mail address, Abbeyfield connection.
