Beaconsfield Abbeyfield Society Charity Golf Day

The Beaconsfield Society, a member of The Abbeyfield Society, the not-for-profit organisation dedicated to making the lives of older people easier and fulfilling, is seeking up to 20 teams to compete in their annual charity golf day. The fun-packed charity event to be held at the Beaconsfield Golf Club on Wednesday 9th June is to raise funds for the elderly residents. Prizes will be awarded to the top teams of the day.

The £100 entry fee for the charity golfing day covers the cost of greenfees for the 18-hole competition, lunch and an evening of entertainment with Russ Williams. The ticket price per person also includes a three course dinner with wine. The evening of entertainment will also incorporate an auction; lots so far include a signed golf tour bag and Clubhouse Tickets and Parking for Wentworth 2011, donated by pro-golfer Luke Donald who now plays in the USA; a Track Day for four people in the passenger seat of a Ginetta G40 driven by young driver Tom Ingram at Brands Hatch or Silverstone, including food, and a GWSR Family Ticket for a round trip of 20 miles at the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway (Cheltenham Race Course to Toddington Station) including a footplate Ride. John Lewis plc and David Shuttle Kitchens have also contributed to the charity event by donating prizes of a coffee machine and wine glasses.

Roger Lockyer, Chairman of the Abbeyfield Beaconsfield Society, said: “This really is a brilliant day. We’re really hoping that businesses in the area will contribute to our fundraising efforts by participating, donating or providing sponsorship. We’ve worked tirelessly to ensure that we deliver a high quality, excellent value for money event and hope that the community will support what is an invaluable, important local resource. We’re confident that everyone will enjoy the event and, as well as having a good time, help us raise vital funds.”

Some of the residents of Bradbury House will be brought to the Golf Club in the afternoon for tea and cakes to enjoy some of the golfing day fun and hopefully a bit of June sunshine.

If you are interested in registering teams to play in the charity golf day, donating prizes, sponsoring elements of the event or volunteering please contact Tina on 01494 671780 or email Tina.Churchill@bradburyhouse.co.uk.

Abbeyfield relies upon donations and volunteers to provide a high quality of independent living for elderly people.
