Abbeyfield residents: living life to the full
Our residents enjoy independence, friendship and support when the burden of managing their own household becomes too demanding.
Our mission is to help an increasing number of older people enjoy a high quality of independent living provided through a range of services, including housing, support or care, with local community involvement.
We encourage residents to remain active in the local community and we provide many opportunities for involvement in how we run our services. There are lots of variations between our houses and homes but the majority provide the following features:
- Home-cooked nutritious meals
- A professional, dedicated house/home manager
- Communal areas for social activities
- Attractive gardens for all to enjoy
- 24 hour emergency assistance for peace of mind
- A warm and homely atmosphere created by staff, volunteers and friends who are linked to our houses and care homes
Volunteers offer residents companionship and day-to-day support to help them live life to the full. Many Abbeyfield houses and care homes are also supported by a group of ‘friends’ who raise funds to improve house/home comforts, visit and befriend residents and arrange day trips.
Abbeyfield provides a safe, comfortable and stimulating environment in which residents can pursue their own interests, become active members of their community and learn new skills.
Here, older people prove that ageing need not be a barrier to leading a fulfilling lifestyle.
