Abbeyfield Hoylake and West Kirby Society held an ‘Official Opening’ of a new extension to the dining room at Lear House Residential Care Home on Friday 11th June. This was a monumental occasion given that the building work over-ran by several months and they were delighted that not only was it finally completed but, moreover, they could also hold the function at the end of Abbeyfield Week.
The Opening was presided over by the Society President, The Right Honourable The Lord Hunt of Wirral MBE and his wife Lady Hunt, together with Esther McVey, the newly elected Conservative MP for Wirral West. They also had the pleasure of the Regional Chairman Ken Staveley and his predecessor Tom Meredith. Approximately 80 people including most of the residents from Lear House and the Sheltered Houses at Elliot Road and Hoyle Road attended the event.
