Abbeyfield’s "The Firs" Nursing Home in Nottingham became the first Abbeyfield care home to achieve the coveted 3 star "Excellent" rating under the new government care home regulator, the Care Quality Commission in April, joining twenty-two other Abbeyfield care homes in England which received "Excellent" status under the previous regulator the Commission for Social Care Inspection.
Commenting on the Award Abbeyfield’s Director of Care Helena Little said "The inspector said that, as a nurse, she would have been happy to work at the home herself which is a wonderful accolade.
Congratulations must go to the Manager of The Firs, Carmel Fairfax and all her team for all their hard work and first rate abilities. This is a superb result".
Purpose built, "The Firs" is home to 31 residents all in ensuite rooms. Manager Carmel commented "I am absolutely delighted".
